What is a Cooperative?
A cooperative is an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations through a jointly owned and democratically controlled enterprise.

What to do to form a cooperative?

Information: Research how a cooperative works. Identify: Be clear on the differences from other associative models. Objectives: Identify what objectives you have in common. Business Plan: Develop the Business Plan. Viability: Assess the viability of the business.
Requirements
Members: Define the number of people. Economic Activity: Detail the productive or service activities. Share Capital: Define the share capital the members will contribute. Officers: Elect the members of the councils, committee, and management. Address: Define the physical location of the Cooperative.
Steps
Request the name reservation. Legalize the book of general assembly minutes and the members' registry. Draft the cooperative's bylaws and approve them at the founding general assembly. Submit via a private document with certified signatures or a public deed. Register with SUNARP's registry of legal entities. Obtain the taxpayer registration number (RUC) and payment vouchers from SUNAT.
